I've travelled the length and breadth of our beautiful county and I've noticed the changes to the volume of traffic and the quality of our roads - and I understand peoples' frustrations.
We've got to sort out our transport issues, especially if we want businesses to grow and thrive and more people to live, work, earn and learn here, we need better connections and quicker, easier ways to get around.
This week (22 - 29 June) is Armed Forces Week – a chance for us all to show our support for the men and women who make up the UK Armed Forces community, from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.
The week culminates in Armed Forces Day on Saturday 28 June and many of our Sussex towns are hosting celebratory events to mark the occasion.
My video is in response to the Strategic Defence Review and the government’s announcement of increased funding. This will be an important area for the Mayor to focus upon, especially as the intention is to make defence an engine for growth, increasing jobs and strengthening homeland defence.
The government announced they're spending £39bn over the next ten years on affordable and social housing with an extra £10bn going to Homes England.
As PCC, I'm already working on a project with Homes England, the Ministry of Justice and some of our local authorities to build and deliver modular, affordable, low-carbon homes for key workers in Sussex. The local company we're working with is also training and upskilling prisoners to build these homes and we know that, when offenders leave prison, they are less likely to re-offend if they have employment.
It's these skills that I want to bring to the job as your Mayor and that's why I'm looking to you to select me as your Conservative candidate for Sussex Mayor

Following the first hustings, it's no wonder more and more members across Sussex are backing Katy.
"I talked about the challenges for Sussex from high housing targets and our need to focus on joining up transport. It was particularly good to hear from a care worker and also from young people about their desire for somewhere affordable to live. My ideas for attracting inward investment into Sussex were really popular and well received."
