Katy was interviewed on BBC South East News discussing the dangers of knife carrying and a new campaign that’s been launched, especially aimed at children and young people.
Charlie Cosser was only 17 years-old when he was fatally stabbed at a party in West Sussex in 2023 and his killer (only 16 years-old at the time) is now serving a life sentence. Since Charlie’s death, his family have set up Charlie’s Promise, a charity dedicated to fighting knife crime and his Dad has been into local schools to talk about the issue. Through education, awareness and community engagement, the charity aims to break the cycle of knife crime and create a safer UK where young people are empowered with the knowledge, skills and support to make positive life choices.
