Your Police & Crime Commissioner has responsibility for: setting the £310 million budget for policing Sussex; setting police priorities ensuring your views and concerns are heard; holding the Chief Constable to account for performance and delivery; ensuring high quality services for victims of crime in Sussex.
Having served as Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner since November 2012, I have the experience and proven track record to continue making a difference to policing and community safety in our county.
To keep us all ‘Safer in Sussex’, if re-elected I will continue to:
- Tackle crime - ensure action is taken to catch more criminals, tackle drugs, knife crime and county lines and reduce re-offending, making everyone safer
- Put more police in neighbourhoods - 379 more police officers and a named PCSO in your community to improve the performance and efficiency of Sussex Police
- Support victims of crime - especially our elderly and young and protect our most vulnerable from all forms of abuse
- Provide action on rural crime - introducing a dedicated rural crime team to prevent crime, improve investigations and protect our countryside from criminality
- Invest in roads policing - tackling antisocial driving with a visible presence so our journeys are safer
- Make shops and businesses safer places to work and visit - with more visible policing, easier reporting and closer working through the Safer Sussex Business Partnership
